Replay: Matt Strain shares Five Things He's Learned about Getting Started with A.I. – for Real People
Check out the first five minutes of his recent class.
“We’re facing opportunities and challenges today that the experts predicted would take years to arrive….There’s a lot to cover. But the world of artificial intelligence is already upon us, and I’m eager to make sure each of us is positioned to use this technology as a force for good.”
– Matt Strain, Five Things I’ve Learned about Getting Started with A.I. – for Real People
Matt Strain spent more than seven years in Adobe Research Lab, working as part of a team to explore the intersection of AI and creativity. Now, he’s now helping “real people” prepare for the opportunities with AI. Here’s the first five minutes of his recent 90-minute class, in which Matt shares the Five Things He’s Learned about getting started in the emerging, exciting world of artificial intelligence.
Five Things I’ve Learned about Getting Started with A.I. – for Real People recounts Matt’s recent experiences creating a one-of-a-kind cocktail book – one in which all text and imagery was generated by A.I.. (The effort proved so successful that he was chronicled in one of the first New York Times stories about A.I.’s seemingly limitless potential.) In this 90-minute session, Matt also:
introduces a simple framework for understanding the components of A.I. and offers a fast look at the related tools making the biggest difference today;
explains the essential importance of crafting effective prompts to help get the most out of A.I. applications; and
balances artificial intelligence's potential with a discussion of the technology’s all-to-real dark side.
If you’re interested in A.I., or worried about A.I., or wondering what all the fuss is about, this class is for you.
It’s a great way to get started thinking, or thinking more, about A.I. and – we’re very happy to say – it’s lead to Matt’s upcoming, entirely new class coming to myfivethings.com this fall focusing specifically on the ways that A.I. is already revolutionizing the ways that writers can approach their work.
