Replay: Pauline Frommer shares Five Things She's Learned about The Power of a Life-Changing Vacation
Check out the first five minutes of her recent class.
"When we travel, we not only discover the world, but we reintroduce ourselves to ourselves. With each mile we traverse, we have the opportunity to grow, to change, to deepen. But to have these types of revelatory experiences on the road, we need to travel to the types of places that will spark our imaginations, and we need to do so in a way that will open us up to the world."
– Pauline Frommer, Five Things I’ve Learned about The Power of a Life-Changing Vacation
Pauline Frommer is a distinguished writer, editor, speaker, and broadcaster. If you recognize the name, you know already that Pauline Frommer has lived a life of fun, adventure, and reflection: She began traveling with her guidebook-writing parents when she was four months old. Over the years, she has written 12 books, edited about six times that number, authored thousands of articles, and written an internationally syndicated column. Here’s the first five minutes of Pauline’s 90-minute class in which she shares the Five Things She’s Learned about travel, and about the the ways in which new places and experiences can teach us that the person we are at home isn’t the only being we can, or should, be.
Five Things I’ve Learned about The Power of a Life-Changing Vacation shares essential lessons distilled from Pauline’s lifetime of travel, and offers ways to think about travel and vacations that – like Pauline herself– are thoughtful, practical, and wise.
If you’re looking for practical advice for ways to approach your next trip – no matter where you’re headed – this class is for you.
In addition to her books, Pauline co-hosted a nationally syndicated radio for 20 years, and her podcast The Frommer’s Travel Show was recently named one of the 13 best for travel by the New York Times. Pauline is currently co-President of Frommer Media LLC, the publisher of the Frommer’s guidebooks and Frommers.com, with her father, founder Arthur Frommer.
