Replay: Scott Klug shares Five Things He's Learned about America – By Talking to Americans Lost in the Middle
Check out the first five minutes of his recent class.
“In conversation with Resolute Square’s Megan Matson, I’ll share the personal and political lessons I’ve learned by talking with the almost 45 % of American voters don’t consider themselves affiliated with the extremes of our mainstream political parties – citizens who want their leaders to approach their jobs with civility and who are more interested in getting things done than in political gamesmanship.”
– Scott Klug, Five Things I’ve Learned about America – By Talking to Americans Lost in the Middle
Last Monday, Scott Klug hosted his new class, Five Things I’ve Learned about America – By Talking to Americans Lost in the Middle, a free, 90-minute class focused on the untold stories of citizens who long for civility and real progress, not partisan gamesmanship.
In his class, Scott shares invaluable insights from his conversations with America's political orphans—those citizens who crave civility and genuine progress over partisan bickering. Drawing from his "Lost in the Middle" podcast, Scott revealed the lessons he’s learned from voters who are shaping a growing consensus for a more balanced, thoughtful approach to leadership.
Scott is a Milwaukee native who represented Madison in the US House of Representatives. After a 14-year career as an Emmy award winning reporter he upset a 32-year Democratic Congressman. Despite winning four elections by an average margin of 62% he stayed true to his term limit pledge and retired. The moderate Republican had the third-most independent voting record of any Wisconsin Member of Congress in the last 50 years. Scott also hosts the popular podcast “Lost in the Middle: America’s Political Orphans” and writes a Substack newsletter under the same title, which you can find here.
